Claude now works inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides

According to Webrazzi, Anthropic has launched the Claude for Google Workspace add-on. It is a public beta and is open to users on paid Claude plans.

What does the add-on do?

The add-on works from a sidebar that opens next to the file in Docs, Sheets and Slides. In Docs it can fix typos, rewrite sections and change tone while keeping the existing formatting. In Sheets, Claude uses the file's context to write formulas and build tables, and users can also upload an extra document or spreadsheet to generate new content.

In Slides, Claude drafts new slides using existing layouts and themes and flags elements that may need updating.

Can you check the changes?

Yes. An 'ask before edits' mode lets you view Claude's changes before they are applied. Anthropic is also offering new Claude connections for Docs, Sheets and Slides: once a Workspace file's link is added to a Claude chat, the file can be edited directly from the conversation.
